The Ondo State Government is partnering with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) via Make-IT in Africa—a programme GIZ is implementing on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development—and the technology NGO,Emerging Communities Africa to host the EmergeOndo Hackathon with the goal of identifying state-led solutions to encourage entrepreneurship and increase employment outcomes.
Make-IT is already prioritizing interventions on the policy level with relation to our work with the National Technology Development Agency to support policies that would drive entrepreneurship and innovation in Nigeria. It was only natural that we would be interested in supporting Governor Akeredolu’s efforts to increase youth employment within his state. The EmergeOndo Hackathon will be the first of its kind in the state and we’re keen to see what solutions come from the public and how these solutions would be implemented by the state.” –Chiemelie Umenyiora (Regional Coordinator for Make-IT in Africa)
Application closes by 11:59 PM on Tuesday 4th December 2018.
#EmergeOndo Hackathon is sponsored by GIZ, supported by the Ondo State Government and powered by Emerging Communities Africa – A Develop Ondo Initiative.
