Digiclan Launches in Akure
Akure has announced itself as an emerging tech ecosystem in the country with a readiness to explore the different niches of technology, hence it was with a huge excitement that digital communication enthusiasts converged in the city for the launch of DigiclanAkure—a community of Digital Marketers and Influencers.
At the Launch event held at Whitespaces,DigiClan Africa lead & Digital Media Strategist Ized Uanikhehi , Ken Ndubisi (Facebook Ads Expert), Blessing Timidi (Social Media Strategist) and Bamisaye Oluwaseun (1678strategy) spoke on different ways to leverage social media tools for effective digital communication, marketing around the theme: Visibility in Non-visible Areas using Digital Media as a Tool.
Ized shared thoughts on tailoring content marketing towards the needs of your target audience. She emphasized that it is very important to learn the art to sell by showing genuine interest in the needs of the people your messages are targeted at and getting people interested in your product and service through thought leadership.
On his part, Ken Ndubisi shared technical knowledge around creating the best of Facebook campaigns and uniquely tailoring Ads to the intended demography. “As much as possible, know the people you want to reach and what to do to reach them”, he said.
The Moth (USA) trained Storyteller, Blessing Timidi also shared on the importance of telling the truth, remaining genuine and creative and respect for people in creating stories and narratives on the internet. “The internet provides us an important platform to become visible for what we are good at, however, we need to understand important basics of sharing thoughts on the medium”, she explained.
On his part, Bamisaye Oluwaseun (The Noisemaker) expressed excitement that the Akure community is growing into an emerging force in the digital world and encouraged participants to be consistent, if they want to achieve their quest of becoming influencers and strategists in the space.
The community will have periodic face to face meetups, free training, mentorship and will be a platform for sharing of vital information and latest developments in the Digital marketing space.
Akure joins other cities like Uyo, Ibadan, Abuja, Nairobi in Kenya and Accra in Ghana as places with Digiclan communities in Africa.
